Club Statement Liverpool Basketball Club announces the departure of Men's First Team Head Coach, Michael Wilson. After an outstanding first season leading the Men's team, Michael has accepted an exciting new opportunity, and while we are incredibly proud of him, he leaves with our heartfelt thanks and very best wishes for the future. Michael has been part of the Liverpool Basketball Club family for the past 15 years. During that time, he has fulfilled many roles, including player, team manager, assistant coach, Men's Second Team Head Coach, and most recently Men's First Team Head Coach. Throughout every stage of his journey, he has played a significant part in shaping the club into what it is today. His influence extends far beyond results on the court. Michael has dedicated countless hours to developing players of all ages, supporting coaches, mentoring young people, and helping to build the strong, welcoming club culture we are so proud of. His passion, commitment, and genuine care for everyone involved in the club have left a lasting legacy that will not be forgotten. While replacing a coach is possible, replacing someone like Michael is not. He leaves behind friendships, memories, and an example that will continue to inspire us all. Liverpool Basketball Club. A personal note from our Head Coach Tony Walsh.... On a personal note, this is particularly difficult for me. I'll miss our daily conversations about basketball, our plans for the future, and the countless hours spent trying to make Liverpool Basketball Club the very best it could be. I've always believed this club is one big family, and Michael embodies everything I have hoped our young people would become. Watching him grow from a young boy into the outstanding man, coach, and role model he is today has been one of the greatest privileges of my time at the club. Michael, I couldn't be prouder of everything you've achieved. You don't need luck because your hard work, integrity, and passion will continue to open doors for you wherever you go.
