2021/2022 Season
Following the UK Govt’s easing of Covid coronavirus restrictions, Basketball England also removed all restrictions on basketball activities. However, we are still operating in accordance with BE’s Return to Play guidance document and associated Road Map, which can be accessed on the Basketball England web-site: BasketBall England Web
Until the situation becomes stable, our plans also have to remain fluid - so please refer to our Facebook page for the latest information.
We have entered teams in the following National League categories for the 2021/2022 season: U14 Boys, U14 Girls, U16 Boys (2 teams in the North West Conference), U18 Girls, U18 Men (1 team in the North West Conference & 1 team in the North Premier) and Division 3 Men. We have also entered a Women’s team in the Greater Manchester League and in the National Women’s Cup.
The 2021/2022 Season commenced in June 2021, with team training and community sessions being reinstated. We ran a pre-season tournament in September as well as some pre-season friendlies. The 2021/2022 season National Cup/National League games commenced in late September/early October 2021.
Supporting the Teams
We believe that until Basketball is recognised in the UK as a spectator attraction, as well as a recreational sport, facilities will continue to be provided without any consideration being given to spectator accommodation and welfare. Our Home Court has spectator accommodation and we have invested to enhance it and make spectating an attractive experience.
We therefore encourage you to come and support LBC teams - not just the senior teams, but the younger age-group teams as well. All the players appreciate spectator support, the more and louder the spectators the better.
Game Videos
The liverpoolbasketball You Tube channel holds a number of videos (both uploads and live streams) from current and past seasons which are available for viewing, additional uploads being added on an irregular basis.
Becoming Part of the Club
If you want to do more than just spectate, we are always on the lookout for ambitious Players, for Team and Assistant Coaches, for Game & Table Officials, for Volunteers to help with the set-up and running of home games, team management, media activities - including the taking and processing of photos & videos, the recording and publishing of game statistics. Interested? Get in touch with Karen at liverpoolbasketball@hotmail.com, leave a message on the LBC Facebook page or complete the online registration form at https://forms.gle/Gt9Y1nkHRak4anv79 .
Promotion/Sponsorship
If you run a company or organisation, there are a number of ways in which you could promote your products/services in association with LBC, whilst supporting the Club’s activities. Interested? Get in touch with Phil Cain at phil@liverpoolbasketball.com
